How rule based Condition mapping works in Discogs Shopify Integration?

Short demo of “Category Mapping for Shopify for your Discogs Integration”

By using DisConnect Integration we can dynamically map one category of Discogs with the Shopify Category so that it will help you to arrange your products without any confusion.

A. For that, you need to firstly log in to our integration.

Url: https://disconnect.constacloud.com/register

After login, you will land on the dashboard.

B. From the product dropdown, you will see Shopify Mapping Option.

C. Here are two options. One is Field Mapping and the other is Category Mapping.
Field Mapping is also a type of dynamic mapping where you can map your Discogs entity with your Shopify entity. To know more about it you can click here.

On the right side of Field Mapping, you will see Category Mapping.
Here you can map the Discogs category with the Shopify category with ease.

To map your products from your Discogs to Shopify to particular categories in your Shopify follow the steps given below:

Step 1: In your Shopify account, you need to create manual collections for the products. You can see the below image for reference.

Then it will be shown in the dropdown in our Shopify Category mapping page.

Step 2: Now, you can choose the particular Discogs entity type(Genre, Style, Format, Media Condition, Sleeve Condition)  from there dropdown according to your Discogs product which you have selected to perform category mapping with Shopify.

Step 3: Next, you need to select the Collection of Shopify, which you have already added from your Shopify account. Also, you need to provide Product Type and Tags here.

You also have to provide the details of the Default Product Type, Default Collection, and Default Tag. Now you can update the entries. And then click on Sync Shopify Collection.

Here it is compulsory to select all the five Discogs condition correctly. Otherwise, our integration will take Default Product Type, Default Collection and Default Tag. If the condition fails (5 Discogs condition doesn’t match to your Discogs records) then our integration will automatically choose default values for the product type, Collection, and tags which you have provided. After clicking on the update button, the Discogs category will be mapped with the Shopify category.

If you want to map another Discogs category with Shopify Category then click on Add Row.

Now, we have added a mapping rule here so that it will be easy for you to understand it in detail.

Mapping rules

  • Genre Exact Match
  • Style Exact Match
  • Format At least One Match
  • Sleeve Exact Match
  • Media Exact Match

Here we can take an example to understand Category Mapping in a better way. Let’s take the example from the below screenshot.

Case 1:

In Discogs
Genre: Electronic
Style: House, Tribal House
Format: Vinyl
Media: All Media Condition
Sleeve: All Sleeve Condition

In our portal: (Shopify Category Mapping Section)
Genre: Electronic
Style: House, Tribal House
Format: Vinyl
Media: All Media Condition
Sleeve: All Sleeve Condition

Shopify Product Type: Beat Me Harder Με λένε
Collection: δέκα, Bollywood Hits
Tags: test001 , test002 , Με λένε

Result: All 5 fields are matched with the Discogs product so the condition is passed.
If anyone of these condition fails then it will take default Product Type, Collection, and Tags value.

D. Another option we provide is a “Default Shopify Mappings

In this option, we are giving you an option to add a default mapping, if any rule fails to map, then the products will get synced to the “default mappings” section.

Here, you can select the default collection, product type and tags that will be applied to your shopify products.
